Additions

Additions are so popular today that it’s hard for DKDR to keep up with demand.  People are finding new ways to live and increase the value of their home and one of the best ways to do this is by adding on to your existing home.  For us, it doesn’t matter if your addition is knocking out a wall, digging out the basement for a really big addition or adding onto the back of your home to make your bedroom bigger.  Our crews have become so good with additions that we can even add a second floor to your home and put in an elevator.  If you love your home and neighborhood and the kids are currently in a great school, you don’t need to move, just give me a call or send me an email and we can talk about adding rooms to your home.

The addition process is not unlike any other construction project.  Often times it’s better assuming the home is fundamentally sound.  Over the years we have understood that doing the work while you live in the house is half the battle and we know that after awhile having your home tore apart becomes difficult and tiresome.  So, preparation before the job begins is very important and all of us at DKDR understand this and work very hard to accommodate you and your family.  But, when it’s all over and you’re living in your new addition, you’ll be happy you decided to add on instead of move.

Adding a large square foot area to the back of your home will take some ingenuity and skill.  The crew at DKDR added a room to the back ofthis house and then we moved the kitchen from the side of the house to the back.  We then created a living area off to the side and added a deck ontothe back of the house.  We also added a second floor to this already amazing home.  The home is spectacular and the view out the back during all four seasons was worth the effort!  The large windows in the kitchen and the back show off stunning landscape that was never seen from inside the home.  A visitor would have to walk outside and down the path to take in the gardens and the pond – until now!

Before you make any uninformed decisions about adding on to your existing home please give me a call or send me an email.  I’m sure I’ll be able to help you make informed decisions on how to proceed.
